Terms & Conditions

The rules of the draw.

1. The promoter

This draw ("Win A House In Westport", the "draw") is promoted by Westport GAA (Naomh Pádraig CLG) (the "Club") as a licensed charitable lottery under the Gaming and Lotteries Acts 1956–2019. The lottery licence (no. D:LIC:CBAR:2026:004463) was granted by Castlebar District Court on 23 Jun 2026, by order of Judge Michael Connellan, Judge of the District Court.

The organisers of this draw shall not derive any personal profit from it. Proceeds go to the Club's development projects.

2. Membership

Once you purchase a ticket, you become a social member of the Club for the period from the date of your purchase until 1 January 2027, at which time you cease to be a member as provided in the rules of the Club. The cost of membership is €100.

Only those who have purchased this membership ticket are eligible to participate in the draw. All members of the Club participating in the draw are subject to the rules of the Club, and any public notice or announcement about the draw is a notice to members of the Club or to other persons concerned.

3. Eligibility

Membership, and entry to the draw, is restricted to natural persons aged 18 or over, in Ireland and abroad. Members of the draw's organising committee are not eligible to enter.

By purchasing a ticket you accept these terms and conditions.

4. Tickets and entry

Each ticket costs €100. A maximum of 12,000 tickets will be sold.

A ticket number is issued only once payment has been confirmed, and no ticket number is ever issued twice. Your numbered entry and receipt are sent to the email address provided at checkout. You are responsible for providing accurate contact details.

5. The prize

The first prize is a brand-new two-bedroom home in Westport, Co. Mayo, as described on this website. The winner will be registered as the owner of the property.

The house is handed over at builder's finish, and the winner accepts the fit-out and finish of the property as provided by the builder on completion. Images shown are computer-generated and indicative; the final specification, address and BER will be confirmed by the Club. The Club will not be liable for any loss suffered due to any issues in the construction of the house.

There is no cash alternative to the property, and non-cash prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.

After the draw has taken place and the house has been transferred to the winner, the Club will have no direct or indirect financial interest in the house and it will be held free from any encumbrances in favour of the Club.

6. Transfer costs

The winner of the house is responsible for all costs involved in the conveyancing and registration of the property, including any stamp duty payable.

7. Bonus draws

A series of bonus draws for additional prizes may be run during the campaign, in addition to the main house draw. Each bonus draw has its own published entry cutoff: every paid ticket confirmed before that cutoff is automatically entered in that bonus draw, as well as in the main house draw. One ticket can therefore be entered in the main draw and in every bonus draw whose cutoff it beats.

Winning a bonus prize does not affect a ticket's entry in the main draw. Bonus draw dates, prizes and cutoffs are published on this website and may be added during the campaign.

8. The draw

The winner is selected by drawing a single ticket number at random, live-streamed online on 30 Dec 2026, under the supervision of an independent adjudicator. The draw is recorded.

The Club reserves the right to change the date of the draw due to unforeseen circumstances. Any change will be announced on this website and notified to entrants as soon as possible.

9. Winner notification and verification

The Club will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner using the details provided at checkout. If the winner cannot be contacted, does not respond to correspondence, or chooses not to claim the prize within 21 days of notification, the prize will be awarded to a new winner drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions.

The winning ticket and ticket holder are subject to verification by the Club and its agents; this may take up to seven working days. The winner agrees to provide the documentation needed to prove their identity and to allow the property to be stamped and registered in their name: a copy of their passport or driving licence, their PPS number (for residents of Ireland), proof of address, and validation of payment of the ticket.

10. Refunds

If you wish to cancel your entry and receive a refund, email info@winahouseinwestport.com within 14 days of purchase. If the refund is appropriate and has been agreed, we will refund your credit/debit card charge less processing fees.

Where an entry is refunded (or a payment is reversed by your card issuer), its ticket numbers are withdrawn from the draw and are not resold.

11. Changes to the draw and these terms

The Club reserves the right to cancel or amend the draw and these terms and conditions in the event of unforeseen circumstances, or of any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation, or any other event outside the Club's control.

The current terms and conditions are always published at winahouseinwestport.com/terms. Material changes will be announced on this website and notified to entrants as soon as possible, and ticket holders are bound by the published terms.

12. Liability

The trustees, members of the executive committee and organisers of the draw shall not be liable for any loss suffered by any entrant participating in the draw, and the Club shall not be liable for any failure in the performance of its obligations caused by factors outside its control.

13. Disputes and governing law

Any dispute, difference or question of any nature which may arise between an entrant and the organisers of the draw shall be referred to an independent arbitrator, to be nominated by the Chairman of the Club, whose determination shall be final.

These terms and conditions, and the rights and obligations of each party, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland.

14. Data protection

Personal data is collected and processed by the Club to administer the draw, as described in our Privacy notice at winahouseinwestport.com/privacy, in line with applicable data-protection law (GDPR). You can contact us about your data at any time at info@winahouseinwestport.com.
