Who we are

Westport GAA (Naomh Pádraig CLG) is the data controller for the Win A House In Westport draw. For anything relating to your personal data, contact us at info@winahouseinwestport.com.

What we collect

When you enter the draw we collect your name, email address, phone number and county (or country, if you're outside Ireland). We use these to confirm your entry, send your ticket numbers and receipt, and contact you if you win.

We never see or store your card details. Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS-certified payment provider; your card information goes directly to Stripe. You can read Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/ie/privacy.

If you win, we will ask for further details at claim time — such as your address, photo ID and PPS number (for residents of Ireland) — to verify your identity and register the property in your name.

If you sign up to our newsletter or tick the marketing opt-in at checkout, we also keep your email address on our mailing list until you unsubscribe.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

To run the draw — confirming entries, issuing ticket numbers, sending receipts and contacting the winner. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.

To meet our legal obligations — the lottery licence, tax and accounting rules require us to keep records of the draw and its sales.

To send you club news and future draw updates — only with your separate, optional consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.

To keep the sale fair and secure — we use fraud-prevention and anti-abuse measures (Stripe Radar, Cloudflare Turnstile and rate limiting) based on our legitimate interest in preventing fraud.

The recent-entries feed

To show real activity on the site, our “recent entries” feed briefly displays the first name and county of recent buyers (for example, “Séamus in Mayo bought 5 tickets”) — never your surname or contact details. If you'd prefer your entry not to appear, email info@winahouseinwestport.com and we'll exclude it.

Who we share it with

We share your data only with the service providers who run this site on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Resend (emails), Vercel (website hosting), Neon (database), PostHog (analytics, hosted in the EU), Cloudflare (bot protection) and Upstash (rate limiting). Each acts as a processor under contract with us.

If you consent to analytics or marketing cookies, data is also shared with Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (the Meta pixel) as described in our Cookie policy.

We do not, and will never, sell or swap your information with other organisations for their own marketing purposes or commercial gain.

International transfers

Your data is stored in the EU wherever possible. Some of our providers (including Google, Meta and parts of our hosting stack) may process data in the United States; where they do, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Entry and draw records are kept until the draw has concluded and the prize has been transferred to the winner, after which they are minimised.

Payment and transaction records are kept for up to seven years, as required by tax, accounting and lottery-licensing obligations.

Marketing-list details are kept only until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent (for example, for marketing) at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email info@winahouseinwestport.com.
